Foteini Giannaki MA
Mental Health Counselor
My name is Giannaki Fotini. I grew up in the United States, specifically in New York, and later in life I moved to Greece. I studied at the American College of Greece (Deree College), where I obtained two degrees. My first degree was an Associate Degree in Arts, and my second was a Bachelor of Arts degree specializing in Psychology.
After that, my great passion and dream was to study Clinical Psychology, so I continued my studies at the University of Indianapolis in the U.S., where I earned my Master’s degree. While abroad, I attended several workshops and seminars in the clinical field of psychology. I visited Riley Children’s Hospital (Indiana, U.S.A., 2008) and participated in a seminar with the American Red Cross on supporting individuals suffering from post-traumatic stress.
I worked for six years with children with neoplastic disease, counseling both the children and their families. I also completed an eight-month internship in a psychiatric hospital in Attica, where I worked with patients suffering from schizophrenia, mania, bipolar disorder, phobias, and anxiety disorders.
I have eight years of experience in child psychology. During these years, I have attended several training seminars on adolescents, couples counselling, and stress management techniques. I have also received certification in subjects related to positive psychology and Chinese philosophy, including topics such as “The Path of Joy in Life” from Harvard University (Harvard Extension).
A year ago, I obtained my diploma in Life Coaching from Aegean College, and I now work with people who want to manage their daily lives with structured programs. Since 2016, I have also been involved in alternative therapies and meditation techniques.
I am a Reiki Master-Teacher with extensive experience in applying holistic methods for addressing psychological disorders.
