Biofeedback
Biofeedback is a fascinating technique that combines physiology and psychology, known as psychophysiology. Biofeedback is a method aimed at providing individuals who suffer with information about their body's autonomic functions, so they can learn to control them. This method is used to achieve relaxation in cases where a person faces physical problems related to stress.
Biofeedback techniques use electronic devices that detect and display subtle and unconscious bodily functions such as brain blood flow, heart rate, and breathing volume. By observing bodily functions in real time, we can intervene in the process and improve them. Through immediate audiovisual feedback provided by special devices, we can accurately learn to manage our breathing, heart rate, conscious states, etc. In other words, it is a mechanism that informs us about the progress or impact that a specific action has on our body.
